Privacy

The short version: there are no accounts and no profiles of you, and nothing you type into the tool is ever uploaded. The bracket maker — and everything you download from it — carries no tracking cookies and no ads. The site does use cookieless analytics, including on the tool itself; the details are below. Your bracket is stored on your own device and, if you share it, inside the link itself.

What we do not collect

What is stored on your device

So that you can close the tab and come back, your draft is saved in your browser’s local storage: team names, the chosen format, scores, dates, venues, title, subtitle and background. It never leaves your device unless you create a share link.

Clearing site data for BracketBee (or using a private window) deletes that draft. Exported PNG files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly — the image itself is never uploaded to us.

What a share link reveals

A share link contains the bracket data itself, encoded after the # in the URL. That means anyone who has the link can read the team names, scores and settings in it — treat it like a public post. The fragment after # is not sent to our servers by the browser, so it also never shows up in our logs.

What our hosting provider sees

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse, and may set one strictly necessary security cookie (__cf_bm) to tell humans from bots. We do not use that data for advertising or profiling, and we do not combine it with your bracket.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people use the tool, which pages are actually useful, and whether visitors arrive from a share link. That includes the bracket maker itself — it is how we can tell whether the editor gets used at all. It reports aggregate traffic: page views, approximate region, referring site and page-load performance.

It is cookieless: no cookies, nothing stored on your device, no fingerprinting, and no attempt to follow you across other sites. There is no consent banner to click because there is nothing to consent to. It is operated by the same provider that hosts the site (Cloudflare), and it is not connected to your bracket: team names, scores and everything you type stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for this measurement is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages and features are actually used (Article 6(1)(f)). It is not used to build a profile of you, not used for advertising, and never combined with your bracket. You can object to it at any time — see “Your choices” below.

Two things stay out of it: the PNG and CSV you download are generated in your browser and carry nothing from us, and this page and our terms are not measured at all — reading a privacy policy should not be tracked.

Advertising

We do not run advertising today, and the bracket maker will never show it: no ads in the editor, none in the PNG or CSV you download, and none in a share link.

The reading part of the site — the guides, explanations and answers — is where we may later display a small amount of advertising to cover hosting. If we do, this page will be updated before any ad appears, and where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) ads will only load after you consent. Advertising will never gate a feature: the tool stays free to use and free to download.
