Pickleball bracket generator

Pickleball events are built so that everybody gets games: pools first, then a championship bracket for the teams that earned it.

Editing is designed for desktop. On this screen you can view the bracket; open the tools below if you need to change something.

Everything stays editable: type your own team names, set scores and dates, then export the bracket as an image — a PNG in three sizes, no watermark.

Pool play, then a championship bracket

Eight teams with groups plus knockout gives two pools of four by default, and one or two qualifiers from each pool go into the championship bracket. That is the whole two-stage shape in a single view: pool table on the left, knockout on the right.

If you would rather keep it simple, a single round robin covers the pool stage on its own: eight entries is 28 matches over 7 rounds, so everybody gets seven games.

Doubles pairs are just teams

The editor never asks whether a participant is a person or a pair, so doubles and mixed doubles work exactly like singles: put the pair name in the team list. “Ana / Ben” is a perfectly good team name and it is what will appear on the bracket.

Use the tournament title field for the division — “Mixed doubles 3.5” — so the printed bracket cannot be confused with the one on the next court.

Small fields, but plenty of games

The trade-off in a small draw is games versus time. Eight entries as a knockout is 7 matches; as a single round robin it is 28; as pools plus a knockout it is 12 pool matches plus the bracket.

For a one-day event with two or three courts, pools plus knockout usually lands right: enough games for everybody, and a final that means something.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this for doubles?
Yes. Enter each pair as one “team” — the format is the same for singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
How many games does each team get?
In pools plus knockout it depends on the pool size and the qualifiers; in a single round robin every team plays N − 1 games. Eight entries as a knockout is 7 matches in total.
Do I need to enter every point?
No — enter the game or match score you actually record (11-8, 2-0, or the games won), and leave the rest blank. Nothing is calculated from rally points.
